Who are they?
Who are "they"? It's the question that pressed on me for years as I watched sincere people---hungry for God---get caught in webs of polished words and counterfeit gospels. A while back I wrote three separate books: Who Are the Seventh-day Adventists? Who Are the Jehovah's Witnesses? Who Are the Mormons? This volume gathers and sharpens that work so readers can grasp, side by side, what these organizations teach---and why those teachings matter. I write as a Christian who believes in the one true God revealed in Scripture---Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is not a slogan or an abstract ideal; He is living, holy, and personal. Counterfeit systems prey on the naïve and the exhausted, promising secret knowledge, a narrower path, or a cleaner ladder to climb. Some promise new revelation, others exclusive access, still others a rebranded Jesus who cannot save. It's all dressed well, but it's not the gospel. This book is a handbook. It is meant to arm you. If you take it seriously, you may be mocked---truth usually is. But if you love Christ and love people, you must learn to test every spirit and weigh every claim by Scripture. I did not write from a distance; I wrestled, read, prayed, and---more than once---nearly got pulled in. That is why the warnings here are plain. Once you see, you cannot unsee.
